We celebrated Sid's first birthday at our home. When my friend Rachel from Kansas mentioned a dump truck birthday party theme we thought it would go along with all of the construction around. Both kids have loved watching the dump trucks go by and play with the ones we have so it seemed like a perfect theme. We even enjoyed some dirt cake for dessert! Here are pictures from the big day...
All of our family helped out with the dishes and taking care of the kiddos...I don't think I will ever throw another party without them- what an easy party it was!
Sid with cousin Samantha...
Thanks for that great sunflower bowl from our Kansas going away party, friends! It was perfect- and we thought of you all!
My sister made these delicious rock sugar cookies to go around the truck- Thanks, Em!
Sid enjoyed all of the singing and waited patiently for his first taste of sugar!!!
All of the cousins helped blow out the candle...it took relighting it a few times to ensure everyone helped :-)
Great grandmother, Mimi with Sid...
I must have gotten distracted while he ate his cake and opened presents- I don't have any pics! I will have to post more when I receive them from Dolly and Emmy.

Justin and I enjoyed going to the Aldi Christmas party in Dallas. Uncle Jared had his first babysitting job before Nana and Papaw arrived from OKC. What a huge blessing - they drove in last minute to help!

Sid got tubes in February. They have been a huge blessing!!!! He had several ear infections including one that lasted a little over 2 months prior to the tubes. So far, he has been infection free. Praise the Lord! Here he is with the little sticker monitors on...they must have forgotten to take them off before we came home...
Such a happy, goofy boy!

No matter what your political persuasion, this election made history. I had fun watching the coverage of the inauguration with the kids. Kate prayed, danced, and watched closely as I explained all that was going on...
