Nana came to visit on July 16th for a week...it was so great! I am catching up on so much while she is here- including updating this blog.
Here she is feeding Sid his cereal...
She and Kate made special napkins for us to use at dinner. They dipped leaves they found outside in berry juice from a dessert I had prepared and pressed them onto napkins...so creative and lots of fun...
We went for a train ride in Topeka and took some pictures of the kiddos in the rose gardens...
Kissing Sid's toes...
She heard the train, got scared, and came running!
Enough, Mommy- I'm hot and tired!
Running from the sprinklers...
Sweet Nana...the photographer's assistant. Kate was glued to her!
Let's go on the train! Ok...
Kate loves Sid- here she is kissing and hugging him...
Nana and I think that Sid looks like a 9 month old (at 5 months) in the above pictures...
Kate loves to swing!
Nana and Kate in the play train...
We had so much fun!

Well, on July 14th we decided to start Sid on rice cereal. He is such a growing boy and just does not seem to be satisfied with his milk. He is almost 5 months old!- I can't believe it. About a month sooner than Kate started, but she was quite a bit smaller. :-)
Kater was so sweet and tasted the cereal for Sid and said "Mmm...Sid, this is yummy to Kate's tummy!" He smiled. She tickled him and giggled with him...
He took his first bite and had no idea what was coming...
The second one, he was concerned...
I don't like this?
Now, that wasn't so bad...I think I like it...
He is on his way to 3 square meals a day!

We went to TX for a visit to pick out things for our new house in Highland Village, TX and to visit family. Gigi came with us and helped us with the kiddos and gave us priceless decor advice. Thanks, Gigi!
We rented a mini van for the trip and Justin thought it would be funny to take some pics of Sid in the seat buckled in like a big boy- He looks so little! :-)
We also celebrated mom (Gigi's) 21st birthday! Here are a few pics of Kate and Gigi with her carrot cake...
Kate and Jax- they had so much fun together as usual. Jax was so sweet to host Kate at his house while we were in Dallas.

Uncle Greg was tickling Jax in line :-)

Nana came to visit on June 17th for a week...she helped so much. I got so much accomplished while she helped take care of and play with Kate and Sid. Here she is reading to Kate and playing with Sid.
Uncle Jared stopped by for a visit as well. He brought Sid some cute basketball socks. Thanks, Uncle Jared!

Daddy brought home a turtle one day...Kate named him "Frog." We went to dinner and he escaped while we were gone. He must be much more resourceful than we thought- the deck was all locked and he still escaped. Hope you are enjoying freedom in the neighborhood, Frog :-)

Meira Glynn came to play with Kate. She and Kate have so much fun. We played outside and inside, made Meira's mommy some cookies, and colored pictures.
Here they are riding the horsey...
Let's take our babies for a walk...
Making cookies!
Kate and Meira got butterfly tatoos...What fun?!

I was gone for a full day one weekend and I came home to Daddy holding Sid out on the back deck and Kater enjoying her new swimming pool. Yes, I too was wondering where her swim suit was...Daddy said he couldn't find it? He must not have checked the dresser drawer :-) She loves her new pool!!! Daddy rocks!
That was fun!
We enjoyed a great Father's Day celebrating Justin...We all dressed in our sailor suits in honor of Justin and Poppy (Sailor Suits are Poppy's favorite :-))

Sid started sitting in the "Bumbo" seat and playing with toys with much more skill in June. He also started rolling consistently both ways and now only sleeps on his tummy. Here he is playing and rolling...
Kate thought it would be fun to stick her hand in a bag of sugar in the pantry and shove it in her mouth before mom could see... She must have needed a sugar fix because as most of you know, she does not have much energy- yeah right! Needless to say, she was disciplined, but you just have to capture some of these things on camera- I laughed secretly when I turned around.
Kate has started playing like a big girl with play dough and markers. She is so great about taking a marker out and using it and then putting the lid back on and putting it back. She has matured a ton in June and July.
Just a rainy day- she loves to snuggle in mommy and daddy's bed and watch tv...
Kate looken' cool in her mommy's sunglasses snacking on some soy nuts. Here she is in her sailor suit one day before church...

Em and Jackson came to visit us in May. We can't wait for their next visit!
They played outside a ton!
The classic "cousins take a bath" pics...
We visited Atchison, Kansas. Home of the Atchison, Topeka, and Sante Fe railroad cars, Amelia Eaerhart (SP?) museum, and Nell Hills- for the mommies! :-) The kids loved checking out the trains!
Jackson was so helpful in feeding Sid in the car while we drove... They had fun watching movies as well.
