Sid and I had a small photo shoot while Kate and Daddy played at the park one Saturday. Here are a few pictures- he was mesmerized by the grass!

Kate started Nursery School at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. The program is called "Discovery Days" and she goes on Monday and Wednesday mornings. She loves it- and Mommy does too! Here are pictures from her first day- unfortunately, I couldn't get her to look at me and smile. She was too excited. It was raining so I gave her a new umbrella and she was so happy!

Sid tried pears last week and was a little nervous about it at first. His first taste caused him to make some really fussy faces. After a few bites he was ok about it- but not as excited as he was for veggies- go figure! He has now enjoyed pears and peaches, next he will try apple sauce. Here are a few pictures from his first tasting of pears with rice cereal mixed in...
Sid also tried the sippy cup for the first time last week. He was very entertained. He was able to get it into his mouth a few times and take a sip of water- although most of it ended up on his shirt. He is now trying to feed himself his bottle as well- it is great! He gets better every day. Pretty soon he will be a self feeder- for at least his liquids :-)
Sid also tried out the Johnny Jump Up- He loved it! Partly because his sister encouraged him and helped him swing and bounce up and down in the play room door way. He laughed and laughed- as he always does when she is near and especially when she plays with him. So sweet!
Sid sat up by himself for the first time on Thursday, September 11th. As you can see from the pictures, one leg did not make it all the way around, but I thought the major effort was worth celebrating. Kater, Cabby, and I were so proud and excited!
